Camp Oklawaha Camp Trip

January 19th - 21st

Cost - $8.00 per person due Saturday Night at Dinner

Directions
Stuff To Bring

Our Oklawaha Camp-out is coming up this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Some of us will be arriving on Friday afternoon, while most of you will be coming on Saturday morning. Please let your Den Leader know when and if you will be arriving and how many - Adults - Scouts - Children will be in your party. I need this by Wednesday night latest, so, Mr Walters can do the food shopping. Food will be provided for all starting Saturday Lunch - Saturday Dinner and Sunday Breakfast. Friday night and Saturday morning is your responsibility, however, we will provide cooking utensils and Pots Pans etc. under cover.

I have just been notified that there is a Fire Ban at all Camps - No wood fires, only contained charcoal or stove top cooking will be aloud. This is very unfortunate, but, because of our very dry conditions, a very smart decision. We will have our campfire ala-charcoal and though not as pretty as a full blown fire - a safer alternative.

I would like to have a meeting discussing this stuff, maybe Wednesday noon at Gatsby's at the Village Commons. We need to go over an agenda for the weekend. Any adult that would like to attend, please let me know before then. I will let you know via e-mail whether it will happen or not.

I will need adult volunteers for the following items;

Camp Buddies - about 3 experienced campers to help not so experienced setup tents and give advise

Saturday Lunch

Saturday Dinner

Sunday Breakfast

KP - Cleanup

Trash Organizer - Makes sure everyone disposers of trash properly and makes sure trash is secure from pests at night - you will manage some of the older boys in this endeavor.

Trash removal - Someone to take the trash in there truck to the dump following the Camp-out.

Campfire - Charcoal starters - setup for Saturday nights gathering.

Camp Fire Story tellers and skits - We need as many good stories and skits as possible to make this a fun event - the more the merrier.

Smore building team. A very complicated task of making sure all scouts get just the right amounts of Sticks, Marshmallows, chocolate and gram crackers. We need about 4 of these persons.

Overall Camp Site inspectors - 2 people to make sure camp is left cleaner than when we arrived. - Last to leave.

1 or 2 fishing gurus to take the boys fishing on Saturday.

Capture the flag organizer - usually Mr Sloane does this, but, needs lots of help.

Den Leaders, please try to have at least two activities you can complete with your boys and turn in any awards that need to be presented Saturday night to Dr. Anderson.
